Call for Applications: Editorial Assistant
Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad is seeking efficient, detail-oriented applicants for the position of Editorial Assistant for a special project between August – December 2019 with the possibility of extension. Supervised by the Interim Editor, the Editorial Assistant’s job will primarily consist of assisting with the transition of the journal to a new web platform. Other duties may include administrative support of manuscript review process, copyediting, proof preparation, and communication with authors and editors. Qualified candidates must possess familiarity with scholarship in the field of education abroad, knowledge of the academic publishing process, and website management and content updating skills. Ability to work with MS Word, MS Excel, and Google Drive is required. Candidates must be able to follow style and editorial guidelines and to work independently while meeting firm deadlines. A working knowledge of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform is desirable. This position is part-time and will work remotely for approximately 10-15 hours per week beginning in late August 2019.
Required education and experience:
BA/BS and related experience in international education, academic publishing, and website maintenance. Graduate students currently enrolled in programs related to education abroad are encouraged to apply.
