You’re invited! Frontiers and CEA CAPA announce the 2027 Woolf Symposium

2026-09-04

Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad is pleased to partner once again with CEA CAPA to host the 2027 Woolf Symposium. Named in honor of our long-time editorial board member Dr. Mike Woolf, the Symposium continues the tradition of convening scholars, practitioners, and scholar-practitioners of education abroad to engage in critical reflection and dialogue around underexamined themes in our work.

This year’s Symposium will continue the conversation on Keywords in Education Abroad Storytelling: Deconstructing the Language of the Field, inviting us to interrogate the narratives we use and the assumptions they carry. We encourage you to read more about the event and consider proposing a contribution. The call for proposals can be accessed here. All proposals submitted by October 2 will be considered.

The Symposium will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 9th, 2027, just The Forum on Education Abroad’s Annual Conference. Thanks to CEA CAPA’s generous sponsorship, the Symposium is free to attend. Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to reserve your spot early via The Forum’s Annual Conference event page

We warmly welcome proposals from Frontiers authors, reviewers, readers and editorial board members. Please also spread the word among your networks!
