Abstract

This article presents a study that explores the association between persistence at the University of Dallas, a private liberal arts university, and participation in a study abroad program. Students who participated in the study abroad program at the University of Dallas spent one semester (typically during the sophomore year) at the Rome campus of the university.

Author Biography

Denise Young

Denise Y. Young is Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Associate Professor of Education at North Georgia College and State University, where she is responsible for university-wide assessment, planning, and institutional research. She was Assistant Provost and Director of Institutional Research at the University of Dallas, 2001–2005. Her Ph.D. is from the University of North Texas in Higher Education and Educational Research.
