Abstract

This article seeks to reexamine the student experience in education abroad by employing an analogy derived from a post-colonial paradigm, thus describing contemporary students as colonial students.

Author Biography

Anthony Ogden

Anthony Ogden studied at the School for International Training (SIT) where he earned his master’s degree in International and Intercultural Management (MIIM). Anthony served as the Director for the Tokyo Center of the Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) where he also taught courses in ethnography and intercultural communication. He is an intercultural training consultant for Cartus and was associate director for the Education Abroad (EA) office at The Pennsylvania State University. Anthony is currently working toward a doctorate in Educational Theory and Policy.
